Educational Opportunities

A variety of opportunities exist through which you can gain preceptor education and training! Take a look below and choose the course which most closely matches your needs.

1) Preceptor training is offered during the following professional meetings:

3) Continuing Education for preceptor faculty is offered at the College of Pharmacy's Pharmacy Practice Seminar held each fall in Austin. For more information, visit http://www.utexas.edu/pharmacy/ce

4) HOME STUDY PRECEPTOR EDUCATION COURSES-OFFER THREE HOURS OF PRECEPTOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING EACH!

These courses are FREE OF CHARGE to UT practitioner-faculty. All other pharmacists and/or preceptors must send a check for $25 to Anda Wynn at the address below prior to receiving CE credit. Please allow four weeks for processing.

Module 1:Becoming an Effective Preceptor and Exercises for Becoming an Effective Preceptor are available in PDF format. The Exercise Book (not the module) must be completed and forwarded to the address below for CE credit. THIS COURSE EXPIRES 9/1/10 AFTER WHICH TIME CREDIT WILL NOT BE OFFERED.

The Evaluation for Module 1 may be downloaded as an MS Word Document.

Module 3: Effective Clinical Teaching and Exercises for Effective Clinical Teaching are now available in PDF format. This module is not just for preceptors of "clinical" rotations--it is applicable to preceptors in all patient care practice settings.The Evaluation for Module 3 may be downloaded as an MS Word Document. THIS COURSE EXPIRES 12/2/10 AFTER WHICH TIME CREDIT WILL NOT BE OFFERED.

To obtain continuing education credit, the exercise booklet, $25 fee (if applicable per the instructions above), and the course evaluation must be completed and sent to:
