Seminar in Alcohol Studies

This graduate course (PHR 189Q) is a seminar offered under the auspices of the Alcohol Training Grant. It meets biweekly in the fall and spring semesters usually on Friday afternoons. The format varies from formal seminars given by invited experts in an area of alcohol research to informal discussions of recent articles from the alcohol research literature to presentations of current research being performed in the labs of faculty affiliated with the Alcohol Training Grant. Topics include but are not limited to molecular and cellular mechanisms of action of ethanol on brain and other organ systems, behavioral analysis of ethanol actions, clinical studies, and psychosocial aspecs of ethanol drinking behavior in humans.

All faculty, post-docs, and students who are interested in the multifaceted problems associated with alcohol use and abuse are invited to attend. Suggestions for speakers and topics are always welcome.
