Ford Foundation Predoctoral and Dissertation Fellowship for Minorities

The goal of these fellowships is to increase the presence of underrepresented minorities on the nation's college and university faculties. The program supports minority groups who have been traditionally underrepresented in the behavioral and social sciences, humanities, engineering, mathematics, and the physical and life sciences and are engaged in graduate study leading to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctorate of Science (Sc.D.) degree.

Eligibility:
Predoctoral fellowships and dissertation fellowships will be awarded to citizens or nationals of the U.S.

Application Deadline:
November 1

Stipend:
Each predoctoral fellowship includes an annual stipend of $12,000. The fellowship institution will receive $6,000 for tuition and fees. Support is provided for up to three years provided the fellow makes satisfactory progress toward the degree.
