These awards are made to students who are currently enrolled in a graduate program at The University of Texas (UT). Graduate advisers submit nominations to the Graduate School. Faculty review committees which evaluate the applications emphasize accomplishments since entering Graduate School.

research, strong personal statement, and letters of recommendation.
Financial need will be considered. Most disciplines.

$18,000 (9 months). In addition, up to $1119 supplement for medical
insurance and up to $3566 per long semester toward tuition and
fees.

2010-2011 Stipend:
$3000 applied towards tuition and fees, or receive a cash award for both
fall and spring semesters. This award entitles a student to pay tuition and
fees at in-state rates for the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
The Bruton Student Endowment Fellowships were established by The University of Texas System Board of Regents for the benefit of The University of Texas at Austin in September 1991.

The Livingston Fellowship program was established in January 1995, in honor of William S. Livingston, Professor of Government and longtime Vice President and Dean of Graduate Studies at The University of Texas at Austin. The program is intended to provide recognition and financial support to outstanding graduate students at the university. Students nominated for the Continuing Fellowship will be considered for this award.
Eligibility:
Livingston Fellowships will be awarded to graduate students
in residence at the university. There is no restriction
on the fields of study. Awards are based on major accomplishments

The UT System Board of Regents established this fellowship in early 1990. It was made possible through an endowment from Mrs. Gordon Whaley in memory of her husband, W. Gordon Whaley, Dean of the Graduate School from 1957 to 1972. The recipient may come from any area of doctoral study offered by the university.
