Support for Fall and Spring Teacher Training!
In March, TNSC received funding from Magnolia Charitable Trust in support of our teacher training workshops for fall 2008 and spring 2009. Teachers will participate in inquiry-based activities using stratigraphic layer models showing cross sections of rock layers. The environment in which each rock layer is formed can be interpreted from the rock type and fossils found within the layer. During the workshop, each teacher will make their own stratigraphic layer modeling kit, which they can take back to their classroom and use for teaching. Details...

TNSC Advisory Council
The purpose of the advisory council is to foster excellence in
the collection-based research, education and outreach of the
Texas Natural Science Center. Council members work to: advise and assist the director in the areas of marketing, fundraising and education; encourage financial support for exhibits, preservation of collections and a wide range of educational and research programs; and, identify and facilitate relationships with community leaders to the benefit of the Texas Natural Science Center.
